Experience

After graduating from college, I was hired as a full-time Product Photographer for Sports Warehouse, Inc., the parent company of eight different sports brands. I worked in the creative studio, contributing to projects across all of these brands.

Initially, I focused heavily on apparel photography, which was primarily shot on mannequins at the time. As the company transitioned to shooting apparel on models, I played a key role in the process. I helped scout local talent and eventually took on responsibility for finding, booking, and managing models. In addition to my e-commerce work, I collaborated directly with the marketing teams, who began requesting more creative content for digital campaigns.

At the time, the studio lacked structure for handling these types of creative requests. I stepped in to take on more pre-production responsibilities, organizing and streamlining workflows for marketing-driven projects. As the volume of requests grew, I was promoted to Photo Producer, where I coordinated marketing requests and managed the creative team responsible for bringing these campaigns to life.

In 2022, I had the exciting opportunity to work with Nomada, a local boutique hotel company undergoing rapid growth, expanding from three to six properties along the Central Coast. Alongside their expansion, they launched an online boutique featuring custom furniture and luxury decor.

I was brought on to photograph and video content for each hotel's website and social media platforms, ensuring the visuals aligned with their brand’s aesthetic. Additionally, I was responsible for capturing product photography of their inventory for the online store, helping to showcase their unique offerings to customers.

At the end of September, I moved to Austin, TX, where I have done freelance photography work for Bawi Agua Fresca and styling for Huckberry. I am currently seeking more opportunities in the Austin area.

Education

My passion for photography solidified in 2013 after attending a summer program for film photography at CalArts, where I discovered my desire to pursue a career in the field. This led me to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Art & Design with a concentration in Photography.

At Cal Poly, I gained extensive experience in studio environments and learned the importance of pre-production. This included mastering the use of strobe lighting both indoors and outdoors, refining studio etiquette, and developing pre-production workflows. I also became proficient with Profoto equipment and Capture One software. During my college years, I worked part-time as a retoucher for a local e-commerce company, further enhancing my skills in Adobe Photoshop and Capture One.
